The procedure for admission of international applicants who need a visa to enter the Russian Federation is as follows:
Upon arrival in Russia, students should contact the International institution of the SamSMU (Samara, Chapayevsakay st., 89, ground floor, room 109) within 2 working days for immigration registration, they must have the following documents with them:
Upon entering the Russian Federation, an international student is obliged to apply for a multiple-entry visa by contacting the International institution not later than 40 working days before the expiration date of their visa, the students must have the following documents with them:
International students studying at SamSMU who wish to extend the validity of their multiple-entry visa in their second and subsequent years of study must contact the International institution no later than 40 working days before the expiration of their visa.

If there is documentary proof for a valid reason (illness, loss of a document proving identity, the validity period of a visa upon entry into the Russian Federation is less than the period provided for its extension), the documents for the extension of the validity period of the visa must be provided no later than 10 days before the expiration date of its validity.
Students should inform the International institution of SamSMU about the following changes in advance:
Attention! After you cross the border when leaving the territory of the Russian Federation, the current immigration registration is canceled. Therefore, when returning to the Russian Federation, students are required to report to the International institution of SamSMU with the appropriate set of documents to obtain a new detachable form for immigration registration!
Upon termination of studies (regardless of the reason), an international student is obliged to immediately notify the International institution of the SamSMU.
If the international student terminates his studies voluntarily, or for any reason other than successful graduation — academic leave, expulsion, in accordance with Russian legislation, the student must apply for a transit visa to leave the territory of the Russian Federation (the processing period is no more than 20 working days).
To apply for a transit visa, you must submit the following documents:
*An international student is obliged to coordinate the date of departure from the Russian Federation with the International institution of the Samara State Medical University and the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Samara region.
Attention! An international student will be considered expelled only after obtaining a transit visa and leaving the territory of Russia.
A foreign national must keep their passport safe, as it gives them the right to enter, stay and leave the Russian Federation, as well as the immigration card and a detachable migration registration form confirming the legality of his stay in Russia.
In case of damage, loss, theft of a passport, immigration card or detachable immigration registration form, the international student must immediately notify the International institution of the SamSMU and take urgent measures to replace the documents.
When the following changes happen:
the student is obliged to report the change to the International institution of SamSMU within 1 day, providing the original and a copy of the document confirming the above changes, as well as a certificate from the competent authority confirming the date of receipt of the relevant document.
Foreign nationals studying full-time at educational institutions of higher education in the main professional state accredited educational program have the right to work in the Russian Federation in their spare time.
